ID.me Helps VA Implement Virtual Identity Proofing Tech - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Identity verification company ID .me has introduced a technology designed to help military veterans verify their identities online in order to access benefits and services from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The company said Tuesday its technology powers the VA's Virtual In-Person Identity Proofing service, which allows veterans to complete identity validation with the use of video chat functions.

During a four-month pilot, the digital platform supported users who were having trouble verifying their identity in eletronic records.

Veterans can seeks assistance from a trained Trusted Referee to complete the identity proofing process through video conference rather than going to a government facility, ID.me noted.

The platform is designed to comply with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's identity and authenticator assurance level 2 standards

“Using Virtual In-Person Identity Proofing, we can serve the 19 year-old active duty service member with a thin credit file, the 82 year-old veteran who struggles with technology, and the 35 year-old military spouse living internationally," said Blake Hall, founder and CEO of ID.me.
