A General Dynamics business unit has received a two-year, $34.7M order from the U.S. Navy to support maintenance of command, control, communications, computers, combat and intelligence systems for an Austal-built Littoral Combat Ship.
General Dynamics Mission Systems will provide resource management, program planning, installation, modernization, training, cost and schedule control and software development services for the Independence-variant LCS, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Eighty percent of work will occur in Pittsfield, Mass., and the remaining 20 percent will take place at multiple shipyards located on the East Coast.
The Navy is obligating $1.9M at the time of award and funds amounting to $896K will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
