General Atomics“™ electromagnetic systems segment has secured a $30.9M contract modification to continue demonstrating MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles to support the Missile Defense Agency“™s Ballistic Missile Defense System testing operations.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday that General Atomics will extend its testing support for passive MQ-9 UAVs configured by the MDA as part of the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract.
The agency will obligate at the time of award $1.4M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and engineering funds.
The Pentagon expects General Atomics to perform work in San Diego, Calif.
MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely controlled aircraft used against dynamic execution targets and also as an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform.
