General Atomics’ electromagnetic systems segment has secured a $30.9M contract modification to continue demonstrating MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles to support the Missile Defense Agency’s Ballistic Missile Defense System testing operations.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday that General Atomics will extend its testing support for passive MQ-9 UAVs configured by the MDA as part of the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract.
The agency will obligate at the time of award $1.4M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and engineering funds.
The Pentagon expects General Atomics to perform work in San Diego, Calif.
MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely controlled aircraft used against dynamic execution targets and also as an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform.
