General Electric's aviation business has secured a potential five-year, $87.1M contract from the U.S. Navy to repair 33 G2 and G3 generator converter components aboard F/A-18 fighter jets.
Contract work will run through February 2022 and may extend to two more years if the service exercises the additional option, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Seventy percent of work will occur in Coronado, Calif., while the remaining 30 percent will take place in Vandalia, Ohio.
Naval Supply Systems Command awarded the sole-source contract and will obligate working capital funds at the issuance of task orders.
