J. Kevin McLaughlin, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant general and former deputy commander of U.S. Cyber Command, has joined the board of directors of McLean, Va.-based government services contractor E3 Federal Solutions.

"I look forward to providing my insights, experiences, and perspectives to the board and helping to drive growth for the company,” McLaughlin said in a statement released Wednesday.

The 34-year USAF veteran currently serves as director of cyber policy, strategy and security at Texas A&M University's George Bush School of Government and Public Service. He entered the military in 1983 and retired in September 2017 after his last assignment as Cybercom's no. 2 official.

Prior to Cybercom, McLaughlin commanded the 24th Air Force and Air Forces Cyber at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas. He also worked for the National Reconnaissance Office and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
