United Technologies Corp.'s Collins Aerospace business has received a potential four-year, $68M contract to modernize an information management platform for the subway operations center in New York City.
NYC's Metropolitan Transportation Authority selected Collins to build an intelligence-based computer system for MTA personnel to store, receive and use data, the company said Monday.
The system will be designed to help the public transport agency monitor service on the subway's lettered lines that include train location and real-time status through a display at the operations hub.
Collins will provide data analytics and management tools to support 17  service routes for more than 300 trains and 267 stations.
