The U.S. Air Force intends to award Lockheed Martin a sole-source contract to manufacture a third batch of Long Range Anti-Ship Missile systems and provide support services.
USAF wants to order 50 lot 3 LRASMs and associated equipment such as telemetry instrumentation kits, targeting image technology, weapon system simulator, technical data and containers, the military service said Wednesday in a FedBizOpps notice.
Lockheed could begin production work approximately 18 months after contract award.
The government may consider proposals from other firms interested to contribute to the effort and will accept responsed to the presolicitation notice until Feb. 28.
The company will build build 50 lot 2 LRSMs under a $172M contract the service branch awarded in late 2018.
