Accenture Federal Services’ Ira Entis: AI to Help Drive Citizen-Focused Service - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Ira Entis, managing director of strategic solutions and emerging technologies at Accenture‘s federal services business, has said agencies should increase efforts to apply artificial intelligence to their business operations to address growing citizen expectations.

He wrote in a guest piece posted Wednesday on GCN that agencies should rethink and reimagine new approaches to make AI tools mission-focused and citizen-centric.

“The technology is evolving faster than many anticipated,” Entis noted. “We are now at an inflection point where technical advances and growing citizen expectations create a compelling case for the implementation of AI capabilities across government.”

A recent Accenture study found that 85 percent of people in the U.S. said they expect the government to use AI the same way the industry utilizes the technology for transaction processing.

“As the expectations of citizens continue to grow, agencies must accelerate their plans to develop more commercial-like, citizen-centric services,” he said. “And AI will be a key driver.”

The Trump administration introduced the Accelerating America’s Leadership in Artificial Intelligence initiative, which calls on agencies to determine how AI can be used to advance government missions.
