Financial services company Wells Fargo Securities will speak with David Berteau, president and CEO of the Professional Services Council, during an investor call on Thursday to obtain his insights on the partial government shutdown.
Berteau, a 2019 Wash100 awardee, will discuss the implications of the federal shutdown for contracting firms, according to a Wells Fargo Securities report released Friday.
PSC recently sent a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to advance full-year appropriations for nearly two-thirds of federal agencies and implement continuing resolutions to fund the remaining agencies for fiscal 2019.
Bearteau noted that hundreds of thousands of contractor employees help the government deliver services to citizens, maintain and update information technology platforms and manage infrastructure, health care, law enforcement and training programs.
“As the shutdown drags on, more and more of these workers are losing their work and their pay,†he added,
