Perspecta to Help Build California’s Campaign Disclosure, Lobbying Financial Info System; Mac Curtis Quoted

Perspecta has secured a potential 19-month, $12.6M contract to support the California Secretary of State’s project to develop a new information technology platform that would offer public access to financial data on campaign and lobbying activities throughout the state.

The Chantilly, Va.-based company said Wednesday it will collaborate with PCC Technology to design, build and implement a replacement for the California Automated Lobby and Campaign Contribution and Expenditure Search System.

According to Perspecta, the new system will work to simplify the filing process for the state’s lobbyists and electoral candidates, increase quality of publicly available data and accommodate system modifications.

Financial data included in the search platform include those from donors, lobbyists and state candidates.

“We are honored to perform the critically important work of improving the quality of public access to information for California’s citizens while expanding our services in the state of California,” said Perspecta President and CEO Mac Curtis.

“It is our purpose to improve the lives of our nation’s citizens,” added Curtis, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s 2019 Wash100.

PCC will customize the core software platform for the CAL-ACCESS replacement in order to help the California Secretary of State’s Political Reform Division comply with the Political Reform Act of 1974, which mandates full public disclosure of campaign and lobbying operations.
