Perspecta has tested multiple technology platforms built to secure power grid systems during a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency-hosted cybersecurity exercise in Plum Island, N.Y.
The company said Wednesday its research arm, Perspecta Labs, evaluated cyber-physical early detection and cyber-weapon tracking tools, which are slated to transition for commercial use as part of the firm’s SecureSmart portfolio, at the Liberty Eclipse Phase II event.
DARPA conducted the drill as part of its Rapid Attack Detection Isolation and Characterization Systems program that sought technologies for cyber and power engineers to restore electricity within seven days in the event of a cyber attack on critical U.S. infrastructure.
“We are proud to have played such a significant role in this critical exercise,” said Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Perspecta and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
“It is through exercises like this that we are able to transform our research into real solutions to not only solve our customers’ most unique and complex challenges, but keep our nation safe as well,” Curtis added.
Perspecta Labs also helped BAE Systems established an emergency network that used the Distributed Assured and Dynamic Configuration tool to manage configurations.
