Northrop Grumman has won a potential $44.4M firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable contract to help the U.S. Air Force maintain planes equipped with the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node technology.
The company will provide product logistics support for four E-11As that were built on Bombardier BD-700 Global aircraft platform, the Department of Defense said Monday.
DoD added Northrop will provide support equipment and subsystems for use in overseas contingency operations.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center received two offers for the firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable contract via a competitive acquisition. Work is scheduled to conclude by Jan. 23, 2020, and will take place in Maryland and Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The military branch will obligate the full contract amount at the time of award from its fiscal year 2019 operations and maintenance funds.
E-11A is designed to facilitate overhead communications relay and data sharing efforts.
