Northrop Grumman has received a $2.4M initial task order to provide logistics support for the U.S. Air Force‘s Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure system.
The order falls under a potential $3.6B indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the provision of LAIRCM equipment and support services, the company said Thursday.
The system is designed to help aircrews detect, track and jam incoming IR threats without requiring user intervention.
Bob Gough, vice president of land and avionics at Northrop’s C4ISR division, said the contract will further the company’s work to help military customers address threats with its countermeasure technology.
