Microsoft plans to add an automated data security analysis tool to two of its Office productivity suite bundles, Bleeping Computer reported Tuesday.
The Redmond, Wash.-based company will be incorporating the Auto-Investigation with Threat Playbooks feature to Office 365 Enterprise E5, the company’s top-tier solution for businesses, and, potentially, Office 365 Government GCC, which is tailored for government customers and contractors.
The software company, most commonly known for its Windows operating system, said in its 2018 roadmap for Office 365 that the Auto-Investigation with Threat Playbooks feature will enable users “to trigger automated investigations†of data breach alerts using “playbooksâ€â€”algorithms or analytical processes—within Threat Explorer, a component of Microsoft’s online data security management solution.
The new feature is currently in development and is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2019.
