U.K.-based aerospace equipment provider Meggitt will continue to supply Pratt & Whitney advanced composite components for F135 and F119 engines under a potential 10-year, $750M contract.
F135 and F119 are used to power the F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor fighter jets, Meggitt said Monday.
Meggitt CEO Tony Wood said the company will produce the components at its San Diego-based facility, which launched in August 2018.
Ruben Harris, vice president of global supply chain at Pratt & Whitney, said the company values its long-term partnership with Meggitt, which has been supplying engine components for fourth- and fifth-generation fighter aircraft.
