The U.S. Marine Corps has issued a request for information on methods and platforms that can help the military service migrate a portfolio of information technology applications from data centers to a commercial cloud computing infrastructure.
USMC said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Monday it is interested in adopting a cloud transition framework for rationalization, discovery and validation of apps.
The branch looks to close multiple on-premise data repositories and aims to determine the potential cost and advantages of cloud technology on IT operations, according to the notice.
Interested companies have until Jan. 23 answer the questionnaire attached with the RFI document.
Vendors can also submit advertising and marketing information as part of their responses.
