Lockheed Martin has provided a visual simulation platform to the Orlando Science Center as part of efforts to foster science, technology, engineering and math education programs in Central Florida.

The center received $32K in licenses for the company's Prepar3D technology at the 14th annual Otronicon event, Lockheed said Saturday.

Prepar3D is designed to help users create aviation, ground and maritime scenarios. Pilots use the platform to learn how to operate fighter or civilian aircraft.

JoAnn Newman, president and CEO of Orlando Science Center, said the partnership with Lockheed allows the private science museum to demonstrate real-world applications of STEM concepts to students.
