Leidos has received a potential five-year, $57.7M contract to help a U.S. Navy center study how deployments and career-related experiences affect the health of U.S. service members and their families.
The company said Tuesday it will conduct population health studies and analyze data, as well as apply its medicine, data science, epidemiology and psychology expertise to support the Naval Health Research Center.
John Scholl, president of Leidos’ health group, said research programs allow the company to collaborate with customers to examine and address complex challenges.
Scholl added the company aims to help the Navy “ensure the mission readiness and wellbeing of our military members and their families.”
Leidos will help Navy researchers determine risk factors for readiness and retention, biological markers linked to traumatic brain injury and reproductive health concerns.
Naval Medical Logistics Command awarded the contract that has one-year base period along with four one-year options.
Work will take place in San Diego.
