ASGN’s ECS business has teamed up with search company Elastic to leverage the latter’s open-source technologies and software-as-a-service offerings to build up the speed and security posture of its big data platforms.

ECS said Wednesday it will use Elastic’s technology platform to advance machine learning and build up reporting and monitoring in support of defense, federal civilian and commercial clients.

“Elastic is powering the next generation of capabilities for search, monitoring, and analysis across virtually every vertical of government, defense, academia, industry, and critical infrastructure,” ECS President George Wilson said.

Wilson added the company’s partnership with Elastic will help support clients as they adopt open-source tools to reduce costs and move away from vendor lock-in arrangements.

Elastic’s platform – Elastic Stack – has data mining, full-text search, dynamic queries and log analytics capabilities to help users identify patterns and generate mission intelligence from unstructured and structured data.
