Chris Pogue, president of government division at Maxar Technologies’ MDA business, told MilsatMagazine in an interview that he oversees the operations and growth of defense, enterprise geospatial platforms, Earth observation systems and space robotics business lines as head of MDA Government.
Pogue, who assumed his current role in June 2018, discussed how MDA meets the surveillance needs of warfighters and defense clients worldwide through unmanned aircraft systems.
He cited the capability of UASÂ to provide real-time intelligence and surveillance assistance to users in support of tactical operations and how full-mission video and synthetic aperture radar and optical satellites support the decision-making process.
“Together, satellites and UAS surveillance solutions work in tandem to deliver the broadest possible suite of information for situational awareness in land and maritime operations,†Pogue added.
He mentioned a number of UAS surveillance support contracts with Canadian agencies and the company’s future plans in the UAV market segment.
“Looking forward, MDA will continue to expand its UAS market share with systems for rapid land deployment and embarked naval vessels to provide unmatched situational awareness by addressing the need for critical intelligence, analytics and enhanced decision-making,†Pogue said.
