The U.S. Army has awarded FLIR Systems a $27.9M delivery order to supply 24 sets of equipment deisgned to to help military personnel identify potential chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.

FLIR said Tuesday it will deliver the CBRN Dismounted Reconnaissance Sets, Kits, and Outfits systems through the third quarter of this year to support the Department of Defense’s Joint Program Executive Office for CBRN Defense DR-SKO program of record.

Production occurs at a facility in Elkridge, Md. The company has supplied approximately 200 kits since it won the DR-SKO indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in 2014.

The systems work to detect and identify volatile organic compounds, toxic industrial chemicals and materials, chemical and biological warfare agents, combustible gases and oxygen levels.
