Executive Mosaic is happy to announce Anthony Robbins, vice president of public sector at NVIDIA, has been selected to the 2019 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena — for his leadership and role in the development of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and machine learning. This marks his second Wash100 win.

Robbins joined NVIDIA in October 2017 and led the efforts to help North American government units leverage artificial intelligence technology through the company’s GPU and CUDA offerings.

NVIDIA is a pioneer of the PC gaming industry and is credited with inventing the graphics processing unit in 1999. More recently, the company has been using GPUs at the core of development for driverless cars, robotics, big data visualization and intelligent machines.

Its recent AI pursuits include the approximately $1.3K Jetson AGX Xavier chip, which was unveiled in December 2018. The company has pointed to the AI chip, which contains over 9B transistors, as the world’s first computer exclusively for robotics. The AI chip, a part of the TX1 and TX2 families, can deliver 32 deep learning TOPS while consuming just around 10 watts. Early users of the chip include Japan’s DENSO and U.K.’s Oxford Nanopore.

NVIDIA partnered with Oracle in October to integrate the former’s HGX-2 cloud server platform into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The move comes as part of the efforts to establish a unified system that supports analytics, AI and machine learning capabilities.

In the same month, NVIDIA held a GPU Technology Conference attended by representatives from industry and the government to discuss initiatives to bring emerging technologies into more federal efforts. Speaking as part of the panel, Robbins discussed how agencies’ middle managers can help companies, including startups and small businesses, expand their portfolios to include federal projects.

Prior to his current position, Robbins held VP roles and leadership roles at AT&T, Oracle, Brocade, Sun Microsystems and SGI.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Anthony Robbins and the NVIDIA team for their selection to receive this award.
