Zscaler has received a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification for its internet security and web gateway platform.

The company said Monday its Zscaler Internet Access-Government secured the FedRAMP authorization to operate at the moderate-impact level.

ZIA-Government is designed to directly send mission-critical traffic to the cloud to allow users to connect to external applications through the internet.

The platform aligns with the requirements of the recently issued draft of the updated Trusted Internet Connections 3.0 policy, which seeks to build up network security across the government and eliminate barriers to adoption of cloud and other modern technology platforms.

Stephen Kovac, vice president of global government and compliance at Zscaler, told ExecutiveBiz, that the TIC 3.0 policy is a “game changer” that could help agencies advance pilot projects to speed up IT modernization efforts.

Kovac noted that the FedRAMP-certified ZIA-Government platform could enable agencies to comply with TIC 3.0 requirements.

“We are going to see agencies finally making real progress transitioning to secure cloud services,” he added.

The company secured in August a FedRAMP ATO for its Zscaler Private Access-Government platform built to provide users direct access to cloud-based internal apps.
