TSA to Seek New Program Partners to Improve Nationwide Checkpoint Security - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Transportation Security Administration within the Department of Homeland Security will host an industry day on Jan. 23 to introduce the new Accessible Property Screening program.

The APS program aims to strengthen checkpoint security across the U.S. by leveraging new detection and automated tools, as well as checkpoint transportation security equipment, according to a notice FedBizOpps posted Wednesday.

TSA seeks to gather the academia, industry and federally funded organizations at its Systems Integration Facility in Washington, D.C., to discuss the vision, challenges, scope, expectations, requirements and milestones for the program.

The agency mainly seeks participants with experience in computed tomography, automated screening lane and TSE networking, integration and deployment domains.

“The APS program will become the long-term solution to enhanced detection capabilities, automated conveyance and checkpoint TSE networking enablement,” TSA said in the FBO notice.

The agency added it hopes the partnership with industry would help “qualify, procure and deploy APS technologies to strengthen checkpoint security across the United States.”

Interested parties can register for the event until Jan. 7.
