Marines Seek Potential Drone Kinetic Defeat Tech Sources - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.S. Marine Corps is seeking a drone kinetic defeat technology the service can integrate with a ground-based vehicle platform under the Future Weapons Systems Increment 1 Marine Air Defense Integrated System program.

USMC said Monday in a FedBizOpps notice it wants a drone system that could expand the Ground Based Air Defense community’s ability to deter aerial threats.

GBAD supports the Marine Corps Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion in close-in, low altitude, surface-to-air weapon fire to protect forward combat areas, maneuver forces, military sites and installations.

A selected contractor will provide an aerial platform that will be part of GBAD’s kill chain for Group 1 and 2 unmanned aerial systems.

The service plans to conduct production and fielding of the MADIS Program within the fiscal 2021-fiscal 2025 timeframe.

Interested parties have until Dec. 18 to submit responses.
