A team composed of Lockheed Martin, GeoNorth Information Systems and the University of Alaska Fairbanks will support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency‘s surveillance project in the Arctic region under a potential $15 contract.
The Arctic GeoData Cooperative aims to create, monitor, update and maintain Arctic terrain elevation models for the NGA with the use of a geospatial processing technology, Lockheed said Wednesday.
GNIS, the surveillance project’s prime contractor, will oversee project management, day-to-day operations and access to commercial remote-sensing platforms.
Lockheed noted it will provide its Rosetta platform with multiple image processing tools in an effort to help the team deliver geospatial intelligence data to the agency.
UAF plans to use scientific algorithms and methods to assist its partners in the project.
