L3 Technologies and AVX Aircraft Company have submitted a joint proposal to develop a prototype of the U.S. Army‘s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft.
The partnership intends to combine L3’s weapons, communications, sensor and system engineering offerings with AVX’ propulsion and coaxical rotor platforms in a bid to design an armed light attack and reconnaissance vehicle for the military service, L3 said Thursday.
Christopher Kubasik, chairman, president and CEO of L3, said the two companies’ FARA proposal reflects their commitment to support the Army’s modernization goals.
The industry team announced its bid submission more than two months after the branch published a formal solicitation on FedBizOpps.
The Army expects FARA production to commence by 2024,
