Hughes Network Systems has received an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract form the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services to provide managed network services to Oklahoma’s state agencies.
The company said Monday it will support more than 130 state agencies and affiliated organizations to manage wide area networks with the HughesON suite, which includes high-throughput satellite connectivity service.
Other HughesON services are WiFi, voice over internet protocol, network monitoring, managed security support and the Software Defined Wide Area Network.
“Across the country, government agencies are now completely dependent upon network delivered applications to meet constituent needs,” said Tony Bardo, assistant vice president of government solutions at Hughes.
“We applaud the state for taking a progressive approach to connecting their government offices so they can meet their missions,” Bardo added.
The HTS satellite network offers customer agencies a download speed of up to 25 Mbps and works to connect dispersed facilities that have limited or lack a wireline service.
