The Department of Health and Human Services has chosen three winning submissions to a prize competition that sought applications designed to utilize Certified Health IT Product List application programming interfaces or XML files.
CHPL Data Challenge winners demonstrated how industry could use and apply CHPL data about health information technology systems and approved health IT platforms, HHS said Thursday.
The $20K grand prize went to ResearchAE, a search engine that created an application that facilitates cross-sectional searches and helps users analyze who is leveraging systems certified by Office of the National Coordinator for HIT.
HHS awarded $10K each to Shiro Labs and Darena Solutions as runners-up.
Shiro built an online app for health care providers to determine how ONC-certified health IT platforms would complement the Medicare Quality Payment Program‘s reporting requirements.
Darena developed a mobile app that works to help users view certification criteria for health IT modules to address care quality and delivery goals.
The department also recognized Tom Nguyen’s search engine tool that offers access to CHPL listings.
