The Air Force Research Laboratory seeks a contractor to support research and development of cyber and electronic warfare technologies for integration with assets for cyber-kinetic combat effects and multidomain operations.
AFRL’s sensors directorate aims to understand sensing effects across air, space, cyber and ground domains as well as internet of things and distributed sensing to improve military training, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted Wednesday.
The lab noted it may look at an open-air test and training environment that could enable researchers and operators to replicate combat conditions and perform simultaneous operations, cyber-enabled kinetic operations or physically-enabled cyber operations.
AFRL will also require the contractor to build and manage facilities that will serve as an operational range for U.S. cyber-kinetic and multi-domain operations.
The facilities should include wired and open-air communications and network infrastructures, representative worldwide physical infrastructures and specialized facilities for test, training and operations.
The lab plans to enter a contract with New Mexico Institution of Mining and Technology to establish or maintain the technologies.
Interested parties have until Dec. 13 to respond to the presolicitation notice.
