Jonathan Reichental, chief information officer for the city of Palo Alto in California, has been appointed to serve as the global industries solution leader at Oracle‘s public sector division, Government Technology reported Monday.
He will officially join the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based software maker on Dec. 17 and oversee the development of a global strategy for smart city and urban innovation efforts.
Reichental has led Palo Alto’s technology projects over the past seven years that included citywide WiFi, hybrid cloud computing, ticketing and asset management systems.
His 25-year career has also included information technology leadership roles at PricewaterHouseCoopers for almost nine years.
Reichental was featured in CXOTALK’s 2016 list of the 20 most influential CIOs in the U.S.
