PAE ISR has obtained an interim flight clearance from Naval Air Systems Command for the vertical takeoff-and-landing configuration of the Resolute Eagle unmanned aerial system.
The company said Monday the group 3 IFC validates the system’s airworthiness in accordance with requirements under a potential five-year, $1.73B indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
NAVAIR awarded PAE ISR a spot on the contract in June of last year to provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support services for the command’s maritime and land UAS operations.
Resolute Eagle is built to carry 75 pounds of payload and operate for 12 to 18 hours.
The runway-independent platform’s VTOL model is designed to support recovery and deployment missions.
