NASA has started to seek information on potential offerors that can provide mechanical systems engineering support through the Mechanical Integrated Services and Technologies recompete contract.
A FedBizOpps notice published Wednesday says NASA wants interested stakeholders to submit capability statements to determine how to acquire the services through the proposed MIST II contract in support of the Goddard Space Flight Center’s engineering technology directorate.
ETD will use the sought services to design, fabricate, test and operate ground system and spaceflight hardware to support future space exploration and science missions.
The planned MIST II program will have six functional areas: pre-formulation and formulation services; implementation phase services for mechanical systems; implementation phase support for instrument systems; research and technology services; and support services, according to the draft statement of work.
Responses to the request for information are due Dec. 6.
NASA awarded the potential five-year, $505M MIST contract to a joint venture of ASRC Federal and Applied Technology Associates in September 2015.
The current MIST contract with Albuquerque, N.M.-based ATA Aerospace is set to expire on Nov. 13, 2020.
