Brad Curran, an analyst at Frost & Sullivan, has projected that the market for Defense Department cybersecurity products will reach $4.3B by 2023 as he expects DoD to significantly invest in platforms that can help secure military systems, National Defense Magazine reported Wednesday.
A new Frost & Sullivan study indicated that sophisticated cyber threats compel the Pentagon to spend money on commercial cybersecurity systems and tools and systems, as well as on projects to develop artificial intelligence and quantum computing technologies.
“That’s a high priority to make sure that a near peer adversary can’t disrupt our combat systems that are dependent on computer networks,†said Curran, the study’s author.
He added the Pentagon collaborates with nontraditional contractors in other cyber-related areas such as enterprise management, cloud computing, big data and autonomy.
DoD has awarded prime contractors worth nearly $1.3B combined so far this year.
