The Federal Aviation Administration has announced that it will recompete a 10-year, $500M contract that seeks to update the agency’s Time Based Flow Management aviation platform, Bloomberg Government reported Thursday.
The contract covers modernization services for the TBFM system designed to utilize flight, global positioning system, radar and weather data for departure and arrival planning in airports.
The contractor will modify the agency’s National Airspace System and provide design, development, testing and integration support to aid the FAA in its efforts to manage increased air traffic flow.
The FAA expects to award the follow-on contract in 2020, with the current contract held by Leidos slated to end in April of that year.
Interested parties may submit capability statements through Dec. 27.
