The Department of Homeland Security‘s Science and Technology Directorate is seeking participants for an upcoming technology rally focusing on biometric systems.
Entrants to the 2019 Biometric Technology Rally will work to develop systems sufficient to support identity verification operations, DHS said Wednesday.
The department will conduct scenario-based tests of proposed technologies at the directorate’s Maryland Test Facility.
“We are expanding the test to include cutting-edge fingerprint systems as well as opening participation to algorithm vendors,” said Arun Vemury, director of S&T’s Biometrics and Identity Technology Center.
The directorate will also invite government and industry representatives to witness demonstrations of technologies submitted for the event.
Input gathered at the event will serve as basis to support planning activities and contribute to research and development efforts.
Interested parties may send white papers and demonstration videos through Nov. 30 to apply for participation.
