Cisco to Help North Carolina Train Veterans in Cybersecurity - top government contractors - best government contracting eventMultinational tech firm Cisco Systems is partnering with North Carolina to launch the CyberVetsUSA program to connect the state government with the industry to train veterans for jobs in the cybersecurity field.

The office of the governor said Wednesday the company will work with the state’s departments of military and veterans affairs, information technology and commerce as well as with veteran service organizations for the program.

CyberVetsUSA offers a free online cybersecurity training wherein participants can access content from Cisco and industry partners Amazon Web Services, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, NetApp, ISC2 and the National Development Group.

The training is available for veterans as well as service members transitioning to civilian life, military spouses and members of the Reserves and National Guard.

The courses include cybersecurity operations, secure infrastructure, software engineering, operations and technical support, security management and network security.

North Carolina will join Maryland and Virginia as the third state to launch CyberVetsUSA with Cisco.

The partnership is part of of Gov. Roy Cooper’s NC Job Ready strategy.
