The U.S. Army plans to seek a new contractor that could support operations, maintenance and/or product upgrades for the Army Equipping Enterprise System.
The service plans to award a potential five-year, firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for AE2S support services, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted Friday.
The project comes after a 2015 system assessment showed the technology was inefficient, unnecessarily costly and provided poor user experience.
Initial modernization efforts included moving the equipping system to Amazon‘s cloud platform.
Deloitte currently holds a contract with the Army to provide operational services for AE2S at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.
Interested parties have until Dec. 10 to respond to the sources sought synopsis.
The Army hopes the contractor can begin work by January 2020.
