Virginia DOT Taps Woolpert to Collect, Analyze Highway Asset Data - top government contractors - best government contracting eventVirginia’s transportation department has selected Woolpert to gather and process data of highway condition assets from roads across the state.

The company said Tuesday it will assess over 40 types of these assets such as guardrails and fences based on the department’s standard criteria and submit processed data to Leidos for a final examination.

Woolpert will administer random sampling to generate data input needed for the effort.

Keith Tolison, project manager at Woolpert, said the data would help the state identify repair needs and determine if funds are rightfully allotted or not.

“These inspections allow officials the flexibility of shifting their funding to bring those assets in line,” he said.
