Siemens Government Technologies will resume its energy conservation and infrastructure modernization work at two of the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center’s facilities under two separate contracts worth a total of $60.8M.
The company said Tuesday it will help the Corpus Christi Army Depot in Texas to modernize its balancing test stands for the rotor blades of the U.S. Army’s UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, as well as protect personnel in charge of balancing projects.
The effort is in support of the facility’s readiness and maintenance work for the service’s fleet of rotary wing aircraft.
Siemens will also provide the service’s army tank plant in Lima, Ohio with building envelope modifications and technologies from the firm’s Energy Management division to extend production work on the M1 Abrams tank.
The company previously delivered smart infrastructure technology applications from its Building Technologies business unit to the facility, which helped convert coal to natural gas to enable safer operations, decrease maintenance efforts and extend the lifespan of the military tank.
Tina Dolph, president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies, said the company recognizes its role in helping the Army Engineering and Support Center implement energy savings and infrastructure modernization work at two of its depots to support military operational missions.
