The National Defense Industrial Association has appointed M International CEO Richard McConn and Punaro Group CEO Arnold Punaro to respectively serve as chair and vice chair of NDIA’s board of directors.
Both executives will serve for a term of up to two years, the association said Monday.
Hawk Carlisle, president and CEO of NDIA, said McConn and Punaro will help ensure the group’s continued efforts to strengthen the defense industrial base that supports U.S. military operations.
McConn has more than 50 years of security affairs experience, having previously served as a White House aide to former President Richard Nixon and a protocol officer for Defense Department secretary.
He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1966 and held various roles in the Air Force Reserves before retiring in 1992 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Punaro worked at Science Applications International Corp. for 14 years as an executive vice president.
The retired U.S. Marine Corps major general also spent 13 years as staff director at the Senate Armed Services Committee.
