PAE ISR has chosen United Technologies Corp.‘s aerospace systems business to build an optical and laser designation technology for the Resolute Eagle unmanned aerial system.
UTC Aerospace Systems will equip the aircraft with an TASE400 LD payload intended to help operators recognize objects, transmit data and process videos on board, PAE ISR said Monday.
The laser designator is designed to comply with NATO’s STANAG 3733 power and energy requirements, as well as operate with the international alliance’s semi-active lasers and guided munitions.
The system also features global positioning and inertial navigation systems, a geo-pointing technology and the ViewPoint payload software.Â
Beth Beach, vice president of business development at PAE ISR, said the company is pleased to offer UTC’s technology as part of Resolute Eagle.
PAE ISR offers standard and vertical takeoff-and-landing configurations of its group 3 UAS platform and designed the aircraft to operate for as long as 18 hours in different missions such as maritime and special operations.
