NASA Solicits Input on Cargo Delivery Requirements for Lunar ‘Gateway’ - top government contractors - best government contracting eventNASA seeks industry feedback on requirements for developing a module to deliver pressurized and unpressurized cargo to a future cislunar outpost for deep space missions, technology demonstrations and explorations around the moon.

The space agency said Tuesday it looks to procure a logistics platform with guidance and navigation, power generation and propulsion systems for cargo spacecraft to dock on the Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway.

The module should have the ability to self-dispose within three years of its service life in space and feature a docking adapter designed to comply with the International Docking System Standard, the agency added.

NASA aims to carry out three cargo delivery missions, the first of which will involve shipping a robotic arm to the lunar outpost sometime in 2024.

The agency intends for the first two Gateway supply operations to launch on commercial rockets and conduct the in with the Space Launch System that was originally designed to support crewed Orion missions.

NASA will accept responses to its request for information notice through Nov. 2.
