Kratos Subsidiary to Integrate Tactical Waveform in Harris Radios for Air Force - top government contractors - best government contracting event

A Kratos Defense and Security Solutions subsidiary has signed a licensing agreement to provide communication waveforms for integration into tactical radio systems Harris will produce for the U.S. Air Force.

Kratos RT Logic will equip handheld video data link radios with bandwidth and standard common data links, vortex native waveform, tactical data link and 466-extended range for ground troops to process intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data in real time, the company said Monday.

The Air Force awarded Harris a five-year, $130M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in April to manufacture HH-VDL devices.

Ryan McCarty, vice president of Defense Department sales at Harris, said the company will work with Kratos to deliver handheld radios to warfighters in support of DoD’s force modernization efforts.

McCarthy added the partnership aims to field integrated platforms that include a handheld mission module and a standalone video data link radio within the next 12 to 18 months.
