“Our purpose is to help people displaced by conflict resume their normal lives,” Priestley said in a statement published Monday.

“Together, we’re working to stop conflict-related and malicious explosives from being threats wherever they’ve been used.”

He took part in the “New Strategies and Technologies” panel discussion that tackled emerging demining technology platforms.

Janus Global’s parent company Caliburn International sponsored the MEI conference that focused on landmines and improvised explosive devices and mine clearing operations in the Middle East region.

HRH Prince Mired bin Ra’ad al-Hussein, chairman of the National Commission for Demining and Rehabilitation in Jordan, delivered the keynote address at the event.

Other speakers at the conference include Frank Pandolfe, a retired Navy vice admiral and CEO of PAN Global Strategies; Stanley Brown, director of the office of weapons removal and abatement at the State Department; Mark Swayne, acting deputy assistant secretary for stability and humanitarian affairs at the Defense Department; and Lise Grande, humanitarian coordinator and United Nations Development Program resident representative for Yemen.
