Huntington Ingalls Industries has announced that 13 of its Ingalls and Newport News Shipbuilding employees received recognition during the 23rd Women of Color STEM Conference.
HII said Friday that it co-sponsored the event, which was held this week in Detroit, Mich.
Three HII employees received a Technology All-Star award, which honors WOC in the middle or advanced stages of their careers for their contributions to the workplace and community.
Ten employees were also selected for the Technology Rising Star awards focused on WOC who have contributed to the development of next-generation technology.
The Women of Color STEM conference is an annual networking and professional development event that has recognized WOC achievements in STEM fields for over 20 years.
