General Dynamics’ Electric Boat subsidiary has won a one-year, $39.7M contract to support the U.S. Navy‘s Next Generation Submarine Science and Technology Research effort.
Electric Boat secured the contract via the Long Range Broad Agency Announcement for Navy and Marine Corps Science and Technology and will perform work in Groton, Conn., the Defense Department said Monday.
The Navy will obligate $10K in fiscal 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
DoD noted the contract has an initial value of $14.7M and the base period of performance will run through Oct. 14, 2019.
Work could extend until October 2023 if the service branch exercises all options.
