General Electric‘s aviation business has opened a collaboration space in Washington, D.C., to help federal civilian and defense customers transform operations with digital products and services.
GE Aviation established the Accelerator for data scientists, software developers and domain experts to work with government clients to condense multiple data points generated by the defense sector each year into data-collating technologies, the company said Thursday.
Representatives from CACI International, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel, Microsoft, ViON and Teradata participated at the accelerator opening event.
“Digital transformation is a strategic imperative for aviation to stay competitive in today’s ever-changing world,†said Tony Mathis, president of military systems business at GE Aviation.
John Mansfield, chief digital officer at GE Aviation, said fostering good relationships with customers can facilitate exchange of digital-based platforms.
The company also maintains a similar collaboration space in Austin, Texas.
