Endeavor Robotics has partnered with Howe and Howe Technologies to build a purpose-built system both companies intend to jointly offer under the second phase of the U.S. Army‘s Robotic Combat Vehicle program.
The Army conducts initial experimentation with MII3 armored personnel carriers as part of RCV Program’s first phase and expects the next stage to begin in late 2019, Endeavor said Monday.
Sean Bielat, CEO of Endeavor Robotics, said the company aims to combine its robotic systems integration experience with Howe and Howe’s Ripsaw ground robot platform in a bid to address the Army’s program requirements.
The service looks to buy up to 7,000 RCVs.
Endeavor won a spot on a potential nine-year, $429.1M contract from the Army in late March to provide engineering and manufacturing development services for the Common Robotic System (Individual) program.
Textron moved to acquire Howe and Howe as part of efforts to grow the industrial conglomerate’s autonomous technology offerings for the military sector.
